Message from the President

Dear SRN members,

Happy New Year! Hope everyone is healthy and hearty.

December's holiday meeting was not the largest turn-out, but it was fun, delicious, and we got some great new online marketing ideas from LeNore and Christine. There also was a gift exchange, and we sent a get-well card to Carla, our treasurer.

We presented the slate of new officers for the new year, who will start in March, and they were approved by acclamation. They are:

President - Toni Fitzwater
Vice President (Program) - Susan Matthews
Treasurer - Carla Gosney
Membership - LeNore Kerber
Newsletter - Sharon Ryan
Marketing - Stephanie Rosenbaum
Special Projects - Karen Niemi
Reps to TACtile Board of Advisors - Gwenith Gernert, Stephanie Rosenbaum, and alternate Susan Matthews (quarterly meetings)

There will be a meeting of our new and old Boards on Tuesday, February 23. Then the new officers will take over in March.

I wore my latest creation, an 1880's gown, and I have to tell you, ten days later I wore it to the Solstice celebration my dance community has, and my sweetie wore his cutaway and vest that matched me, that I had made, and we were "pursued by papparazzi" all night!

We are proceeding with planning for being at the Sew Expo the first weekend in February. Judy Farmer is lining up the volunteers for our booth. We will confirm that at our January 28 meeting. Hope to see you all there!

All the best,
Marci Heiser, President

SRN Member Corner

Carla Gosney writes "Thank you so much for the get well card. It was a nice surprise. Laughter is always good medicine! I hope to be at the next meeting."

If anyone has or knows of anyone that has yarn they would like to find a home for, please contact Carla. She can put it to good use in the crochected items donate to the Littleton hospital.

Wanted: Donation or modest cost adjustable dress form

The volunteer who organizes Denver's Brides Against Breast Cancer gown sale needs a form to do repairs to the donated dresses before the next event in 2010. She's beginning the work now since there will be hundreds of dresses donated.

Brides Against Breast Cancer receives donated bridal gowns from shops and gently used gowns from brides. These gowns are sold over a weekend event to multitudes of caring new brides. The events are run by volunteers and all proceeds go to grant wishes for women with terminal breast cancer.

If you can provide a dress form or want to sell one, contact:
