Message from the President

Dear SRN members,

Now that all the excitements died down after the Sew Expo -- what did you think?? I know that MANY of our members came and did their turn at our "booth" at the Expo, and that we all talked to many potential clients and potential members, some of whom I expect to see at our meeting this Thursday, Feb. 26. It appears as if the time is just right for our businesses. What was your impression? Come Thursday and share your insights.

We have some great speakers lined up for this spring, so put us on your calendar. Also we are lining up a special day-long training with Dhyan Atkinson, who spoke to us at our November meeting, for getting our businesses going full-steam in the direction we would like. Tentative date is Saturday, April 4, at a church in Westminster. More info at our luncheon!

Everyone's annual membership fees will be due in March. So you may want to come prepared for taking care of that. And soon we'll be collecting the information and fees (if you choose a special ad) for our spring brochure! Great timing for any new members!

FYI: this Monday, Feb. 23, I will be speaking at the Assoc. of Sewing and Design Professionals at their 9:30 am meeting, on Theatrical Costuming (in costume, no surprise.) I am sure all would be welcomed, at the Koelbel Library at the corner (really!) off Holly and Orchard.

Please contact me or any or the Board with any questions about membership or any other matters we might help each other with. "Network" is our middle name!! (Okay, it's our last name.)

Marci Heiser
President

This Months Event

Do you ever have something happen to your sewing machine at 2 a.m., when your job is going to be picked up at 9 a.m., and all of a sudden your sewing machine is not sewing.!!!

Most people you know are in bed, you can't call them at 2 a.m. for help with the machine or to borrow one. What do you do?

Patrick Arnold has owned Above and Beyond Sewing for approximately three years. He worked at AAA Sewing before that time. He will be showing us some tune-up tips, tricks and sharing info that will keep you out of this jam.
