Message from the President

New Brochures are in! Did you get the email with that announcement? In any case, we will have them at the June 25 luncheon meeting at TACtile Arts Center, and after that, board members (located all over the metro area) will have a stock of brochures with them, when you need refills.

What I have been doing lately is leaving them in any second-hand clothing store, or retail outlet, that doesn't have their "own" seamstress for alterations.

The more brochures there are out there, the more work we'll get.
Last month's meeting was so much fun, it went into overtime! Bob Juenemann of "Make It Sew" knows his stuff and had pictures, and we couldn't get enough of it. Who knew the "insides" of our machines could tell so much?

We had 20 members, including new members Carol Baxter and Barbara Auchenbach present. We recognized and thanked our out-going and in-coming Board members, who keep our organization going.

News: the "Wonderful Wednesdays" at TACtile are "on vacation" for the summer, but there are lots of new classes there this summer, for kids and adults. Check out the TACtile website, click on it from this newsletter, if you're not on their email list (you can get on for free.) I feel TACtile is now hitting its stride, the way we all hoped it would.
Our June meeting will be presented by you-our members. See this months event for the details.

Bring a "show'n tell" for your one-minute "commercial" but be warned, I'll bring a timer so we keep within our time limits! Then, be welcome to stay and share/chat afterwards. Hope to see you there!

Marci Heiser,
SRN President

YOU ARE THE PROGRAM

We are sure to have a great time.

  1. Bring an idea that has saved you time.
  2. Grab that BOOK that you use every time you need that question answered.
  3. Or you can bring a problem that has you puzzled.
  4. How about questions on how do you do that?

This meeting will be as good as its members, and we should all leave with new pearls of knowledge.

This month we are taking a look at GWENITH GERNERT.

Gwenith's business is Sew To Go. She is a long time SRN member and jumps in to help.

She sends out the snail-mail copies of our newsletter to those not on the net.

She also has been at lots of Wonderful Wednesdays ready to give SRN information to anyone who drops in on SRN Wednesday.

Look at the examples of Gwenith's skills.
