One more meeting at Perkins. Yes, I know I said we would move this month, but paperwork stands in the way. The SRN Board wanted to handle this move responsibly.

For those of you who did not attend last month's meeting, ie. most of the membership, we have an exciting opportunity to change to a meeting location that should be permanent and more suitable to our subject. Diane Denholm, of D'Lea's Fine Fabric fame, has opened a new non-profit textile arts center. She envisions this to be the central location for all guilds, meetings, workshops and cross pollination of textile arts in the Rocky Mountain area.

Here's the layout. TACtile (Textile Art Center) is located in Tamerac Square, a shopping center 2 miles east of I-25 on Hampden Avenue. The shopping center is on the north side of Hampden. The entry to TACtile is on the far northwest corner near the Old Chicago Restaurant. Lots and lots of free parking. Lots and lots of restaurants. We will hold our meetings from 11AM-1AM as before. You will need to procure your own meal and drink to bring into the meeting. TACtile will provide tables and chairs and members have already expressed their ideas for arrangements so we can network easily.

Within the next month, I will email blast directions, maps, lists of restaurants nearby (walking distance) and all that is necessary for you to make it to a meeting. I visited at the tail end of the Rocky Mtn. Handweavers Guild meeting and the atmosphere was electric. I see a great opportunity for those who teach in our group to find workshop space, those who exhibit to show their stuff, and those of us who talk to network with all the textile arts.

Meanwhile, see you at Perkins one more time and above the sounds of "order up" we will get our business done!
