Dear SRN members,
Much momentous news from the November meeting! You elected a new slate of officers for your Board of Directors, to go into effect in March 2009 as follows:

Thanks for those who have served, to keep our enterprise going, and those coming on for the new year.
Many of you may have heard of PACC, Professional Assoc. of Custom Clothiers, now called ASDP, Association of Sewing and Design Professionals. They meet monthly, and have invited us to their December meeting, Monday, Dec. 15th from 9:30 am to 1 pm, at the Koelbel Library at Orchard and Holly. I'll be there -- wouldn't miss a holiday opportunity to eat and schmooze! Find out more at our luncheon meeting, or call one of the Board.
New brochures (for the public, our advertising) and new rosters (for our internal use only) were available, and will be again. Also some new (or old) ideas for where else to put our brochures, to get our names out there -- thrift stores, and retirement homes.
November's meeting was graced with 18 of us, and our speaker, Dhyan Atkinson, gave us some direction for Business Skills we small business owners could use. She listened in to our introductions, so had questions and suggestions based on the info she heard; she was quite interactive. (Do let your Board know how you like our speakers -- let Tracy or Marci know -- or any topics you'd like to see covered.)
Our December meeting this week will not have a speaker, more time to chat, and we'll bring festive (not always necessarily caloric!) potluck snacks. Also, optional, would be a small gift to exchange. Join us for the fun and the latest news!

It's a Holiday Party!
Break away from the sewing workroom and join us for the December Holiday festivities.
The SRN Board will bring a couple of cheese and veggie party trays, and we'll do member potluck on the desserts and other fill-in items.
So whether you've been wanting to try out that new recipe, whip up a favorite family dish, or just opt to do a drive-by/pick-up at the 'Cheesecake Factory' or somewhere --- come hungry and remember to bring those yummy treats with you.
For those wanting to participate in the optional gift exchange, don't forget to bring your wrapped gift ($10. value). Coveted sewing notions are always a great hit!
Use of SRN Logo on Members Sites
As a member of The Sewing Referral Network, you can play a big part in helping to grow the organization! The Board of Directors has approved the use/display of the new SRN logo on member sites for more exposure. If you need a Web-ready JPG image of the logo, please e-mail MaryJo Regier at mj@mjregiercopywriter.com with "SRN logo request" in the subject line.
If you do display the SRN logo on your private business site, please use the format guidelines below, along with a link to the SRN website (either link the logo or the URL or both!), to ensure professional exposure consistency:
Business Name Tags
If you would like a name tag for your business you can order them through Toni Fitzwater. The name tags are 1" x 3" and available in gold, silver, and various colors. They have a magnetic attachment, so no clothing damage. The cost with the engraving is $10.25. If interested please send Toni the information you want engraved, 3 choices of color (they do not have all colors all the time), money, and she will order it for you. You can get her address from a brochure, the roster or email her for it.

Membership Roster
Members may pick-up membership rosters and brochures at any meeting. If you can't make a meeting and need brochures, please contact one of the SRN Board Members for alternate pick up locations. New rosters will be printed for the March, July & November 2008 meetings (subject to change). If you can not attend a meeting and want a roster or brochure, please email the request to Toni at toni_fitzwater@msn.com and she will mail you a copy.
Notice that all Membership Dues are being changed to March 1st each year, beginning in year 2009. How does this work? SRN memberships up for renewal are being prorated through February 2009, when all existing members change over to the same March 1st renewal date.
