Primary Focus: The purpose of The Sewing Referral Network is to: network, market, give/receive referrals, celebrate successes, brainstorm, offer professional support/guidance, share resources for fabric, notions, supplies and upcoming sewing events.

THE MEMBERS: Very friendly and professional sewing enthusiasts that are in sewing related businesses. Whether your business is full-time, part-time, new or established-all are welcome!

MEMBER BENEFITS:

Referrals. Printed Directory of Businesses by Category. Network with other sewing professionals Special Discounts offered by our Retail members. Monthly newsletter of meeting notes and valuable information.

PROGRAM: We have dynamic speakers at each meeting who have business or creative presentations. If you are a professional speaker and would like to be considered for speaking at one of our meetings, please contact either the President or Vice President by clicking here. At each meeting everyone will be allowed to showcase their work so we can all see what you do. If it's impossible to bring in those drapes and duvets - bring photos! We want to know what you do so we can give you the best referrals possible.

GUESTS: Prospective members may attend as a guest twice before becoming a member. Reservations must be made by Monday before the meeting.

Paid Referrals: Referrals are on the honor system. A one-time fee of $10 is paid for each referral that becomes a paying customer (Project minimum is $25). The $10 is paid to the person that referred that customer to you. Whether you have too much business or need more business—referrals can work for you!

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIPS

Professional Member $65/year
Sew professionally- either part time or full time. Active participation - attend monthly meetings on a regular basis. Eligible to run for an office or be on a committee. Volunteer time or talent to help the network (Example- sewing expos, mailings, yard sales, etc.) Voting rights – may vote on issues at the meetings. Benefits: Give and receive referrals. Listed in the printed Member Directory by category. Receive monthly meeting notes by mail or e-mail. Participate in group buys or offers. Receive an annual membership card. Eligible for SRN member discount and benefits provided by retail members. Receive updated rosters and resource lists. Interaction and support with others in sewing related businesses. Eligible for listing on website.

Associate Member $35/Year
Interested in sewing and sewing related businesses. Benefits: Will receive monthly meeting notes by mail or e-mail. Interaction and support with others in sewing related businesses. May attend monthly meetings, not required. May give referrals to other members but not eligible to receive referrals and referral fees. No voting rights. Will not receive special discounts and group buys. May be located out-of-state. Not listed in the printed directory. Not eligible for listing on website.

Retail Member $65/YEAR
May attend monthly meetings, not required. Support SRN members with special events- such as sewing expos, etc. Provide SRN members with special discounts or offers. Benefits: Storeowner will receive monthly meeting notes by mail or e-mail. Business card size ad or specials/sales will be placed in the SRN monthly newsletter. Employees receive discounted memberships of $25 annually (no listing). Retail store will be listed as a sponsor in the Printed Directory and receive copies of the Directory for distribution in your store.

OFFICIAL POLICIES

BUSINESS POLICY: To protect the reputation and integrity of The Sewing Referral Network, it is understood that all members will conduct their business in an ethical manner. This applies to contracts and agreements with your clients, other professionals, and other members of The Sewing Referral Network. Observation of unethical business practices will result in reconsideration of membership and/or referral status in The Sewing Referral Network.

PAID REFERRALS: Referrals are on the honor system. A one-time fee of $10 is paid for each referral that becomes a paying customer (Project minimum is $25). The $10 is paid to the person that referred that customer to you. It is your responsibility to keep track of the referrals you get and give. Please note: Officers (i.e. membership chairman), who receive general SRN inquires because of their positions, don’t expect a referral fee.
